South Africa has launched the Centre for Rural Health t support the recruitment and retention of personnel for rural medical services.

The project is part of the Witwatersrand Faculty of Health Sciences and will work towards eliminating inequalities in healthcare services provided in the country’s rural areas, the government said.

The centre will concentrate on the rural areas in the North West, Limpopo and Mpumalanga to provide an integrated service through better co-ordination of planning and resource deployment.
