Saudi Arabia will replace all existing boards of administration of the country’s medical facilities and specialised hospitals operating under the jurisdiction of the Ministry of Health, the government said.
The existing boards for these establishments will be terminated and replaced with one single board called the Medical Cities and Specialized Hospitals Board, Arab News reports.
The medical facilities are all tertiary healthcare institutions and include the King Abdullah Medical City in Makkah and the King Fahd Medical City in Riyadh, the news service said.
The new board will run for three years and be chaired by the Minister of Health.
Each medical facility will have its individual executive director general responsible for regularly reporting the board about all issues related to the facility’s management, Arab News said.
