The Australian Government has granted A$3.2m to the Calvary Hospital to be used over the next four years to improve psychogeriatric and palliative care services.

Of the total amount, A$1.276m will be used to enhance psychogeriatric care by providing additional preventative services, education, support and collaborative management planning.

The remaining A$1.955m will be used to boost palliative care by recruiting a palliative care nurse practitioner, a psychologist, nurses and clinical supervisors, the government said.

The funding is part of the government’s $500m investment in subacute care.
