Henry Ford Health System in the US state of Michigan registered a 36% reduction in expected hospital admissions for enrolled heart failure patients six months after deploying a remote patient monitoring (RPM) platform.

Henry Ford implemented Pharos Innovations’ Tel-Assurance, a device-free RPM platform as part of its Patient-Centred Medical Home programme.

The RPM technology decreased healthcare costs by preventing unnecessary hospital admissions for chronic condition patients, Henry Ford authorities said.

The technology helped Henry Ford provide care to patients outside the hospital, which resulted in more open beds in the facility that could be used for other patients, the hospital said.
