The UK’s Northern Lincolnshire and Goole Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is to renovate and expand its Scunthorpe General Hospital.

The project worth £1.5m includes renovation of the existing family services department as well as modernisation and extension of the children’s outpatient facilities, builderandengineer.co.uk reports.

New consulting rooms will be created and the entrance area will be improved.

In addition, the mechanical and electrical services will be upgraded and the facility will be redecorated, the news agency reports.

Plans include a single-storey extension to enhance the children’s outpatient facilities, providing a new waiting area for children over ten, a nursing room and doctor’s office.

The outpatient facility, an existing parents’ room and high dependency unit will also be completely renovated, the news agency reports.
