The US Government has announced grants of $436m to the the state of New York to implement healthcare improvements across its hospitals.
The grants will be given to health facilities across New York to advance health IT, support hospital restructuring and long-term care improvements, the government said.

The funds granted under the Health Care Efficiency and Affordability Law of New York State (HEAL NY) will enable hospitals to deploy better technology, helping them save costs, the government said.
The HEAL NY initiative will allow more hospitals deliver quality care to the growing population of ageing and disabled New Yorkers, the government said.
Around $60m will be given to health IT projects for better sharing of patient information, and grants of $174m will go to 25 hospitals to eliminate duplicative services and improve efficiencies.
Funds of $172m will be given to 19 hospitals to support long-term care services projects and the remaining $30m will go to individual health centres to address their specific needs.
