Gillette Children’s Hospital in the US state of Minnesota is planning a $42m expansion of its existing facility to meet the growing healthcare needs of the region.
The expansion plan includes a new 52,000ft² surgery building, paediatric intensive care units and outpatient services.
A total of $6m will be contributed towards the project through donors while the remaining $36m will be arranged through loans from the St Paul Housing and Redevelopment Authority.
The expansion is expected to be completed in 2011.
