The World Health Organization (WHO) has identified an urgent need for hospitals to protect themselves from natural disasters.
According to the WHO, each year, dozens of hospitals and health facilities are affected by floods, cyclones and earthquakes because safety measures are not integrated in their design, location or construction.
Most of the 90,000 hospitals and health facilities in the world’s 49 least-developed countries are vulnerable to natural disasters.
