Markham Stouffville Hospital in Ontario, Canada, says it will start expansion and renovation at its Markham site by late 2010.
The project includes constructing a new building that is expected to double the size of the hospital and renovations to the existing facility.

The new building will feature a new and expanded emergency department, enhanced ambulatory clinics, 100 new inpatient beds and eight new operating rooms.
A new diagnostic imaging department, a maternal child area and a mental health unit will also be added to the facility.
The new building is scheduled to start operations in 2014, the hospital said.
