Jordan will purchase additional Tamiflu anti-viral medicine amid expectations of a surge in H1N1 cases this winter, a government official said.

The government, as a precautionary step, will buy 3 million Tamiflu capsules and Relenza inhalers worth $2.1m (JD1.5m), according to the Jordan Times.

Jordan is expected to receive the first batch of 100,000 doses of the 2.25 million swine flu vaccine doses ordered in two weeks.
