Kuwait will establish new kidney cleansing centres in an effort to slow the increasing number of kidney failure cases in the country, the government has announced.

The Ministry of Health has formally inaugurated the 62-unit Al-Khizam Kidney Cleansing Center, taking the total number of dialysis units in the country to 259, according to Kuwait News Agency.

An additional three kidney centres will be launched in Al-Faihaa, Abdullah Al-Salem and Al-Farwaniya hospitals, the government said.
