RAK Hospital has opened the first catheterisation laboratory (cath lab) in the northern emirates to offer cardiovascular treatments that require catherisation procedures.

The cath lab will have a multidisciplinary team including a physician, cardiac physiologist, nurse and radiographer.

The new RAK Centre for Interventional Cardiology will feature state-of-the-art facilities and equipment, according to zawya.com.

The cath lab comprises an examination room with diagnostic imaging equipment used to support the catheterisation procedure.
