Three Cambridgeshire hospitals in the UK have been shut to visitors and new admissions because of the extremely infectious Norovirus bug.
A total of nine wards at Addenbrooke’s in Cambridge, Edith Cavell in Peterborough and Peterborough District Hospital have been closed off to all non-essential visitors to help stop the spread of the virus.
The symptoms are diarrhoea and vomiting and the virus can spread easily, especially to vulnerable patients.
