Parents with babies staying in the neonatal intensive care unit at Canberra Hospital in Australia will soon be able to watch their child via a new webcam service.

The new webcam service will help parents bond with their children, said abc.net.au.

Health Minister Katy Gallagher said that parents are not always able to visit their sick babies in the hospital, particularly if they live in regional New South Wales.

“With a password and in a secure environment, parents will be able to go and have a look at their babies. So I think from a bonding point of view there’s a lot of potential here,” Gallagher said.
