China’s hospital services industry has experienced robust growth in the past few years and will continue to do so in the future, creating huge opportunities for its healthcare sector, a report has found.

The China Healthcare Sector Analysis report by RNCOS said healthcare spend in the country is estimated to increase at a combined annual growth rate of nearly 18% in 2010–2012 and the hospital care segment will share a major part of this expenditure.

Specialised and primary healthcare segments will offer the growth opportunities because of an increased prevalence of chronic diseases in China, the report said.

It also said government efforts to encourage private investments into the sector may also improve cashflows into specialised treatment services.
