Global Hospitals in India is planning to operate hospitals in six cities across the country with a total capacity of 4,000–5,000 beds by 2013.

As part of its expansion plans, the group plans to invest Rs200 crore ($43m) in a 19-floor 450-bed hospital in Mumbai.

Future plans include setting up a 750-bed hospital in two phases in Kolkata, with 350 beds in the first phase and 400 beds in the second phase.

The group already has a presence in Hyderabad, Chennai and Bangalore, according to business-standard.com.
