A new 50,000ft² Kiowa County Memorial Hospital in Greensburg, US, has opened its doors to patients following the E-F5 tornado that hit the town in May 2007.
The new hospital features emergency room, paediatric suites and speciality services, such as physical therapy.
Building the hospital and furnishing it with all the needed equipment cost $25m, but only $2m of that was not covered by insurance or grant funding.
For the two-and-a-half years since the E-F5 tornado hit the town, patients in Greensburg have used healthcare services provided through mobile trailers, according to ksn.com.
