The US Army Corps of Engineers (USACE) will award a new contract to build Martin Army Community Hospital at Fort Benning, Georgia, after the original contractors were dropped over conflicts of interest.

A design-build contract for the replacement of the Martin Army Community Hospital was originally awarded to Turner Construction Company of Huntsville, Alabama, whose design partner was Ellerbe/Becket of New York, US.

Protests filed against the award of this contract were upheld in February 2010, with the Government Accountability Office recommending that construction work be stopped temporarily and the contractors be dropped.

The Army Corps will implement the recommendations and will make a new award determination following discussions with the remaining phase II bidders.
