Porter County Plan Commission in the US has approved Community Health Systems’ developmental plan to build a $225m Porter Health hospital in Porter County, US.
Construction of the 420,000ft², five-storey hospital is expected to begin on 1 June.
The 225-250 bed hospital is subject to conditional approvals from the Army Corps of Engineers, according to post-trib.com.
Indiana Department of Transportation has permitted the hospital vehicle access off US Route 6.
Two out of the nine Porter County commissioners voted against the building plant because they were concerned about potential drainage problems caused by the development.
Porter Health CEO Jonathan Nalli said the new building was a way of expanding necessary services in Valparaiso.
