St. Jude Medical has entered into a definitive agreement with LightLab Imaging to acquire LightLab, a subsidiary of Goodman, for approximately $90m.

The acquisition also includes LightLab’s FDA-approved first optical coherence tomography (OCT) products.

The transaction, which is subject to customary closing conditions and regulatory approvals, is expected to close by the end of the second quarter.

After the transaction is closed, St. Jude Medical will be the first company to offer physicians both OCT and fractional flow reserve (FFR) technology with comprehensive lesion assessment information, ranging from the anatomical images of OCT to the physiological data of FFR.
