The Niger Delta Development Commission (NDDC) in Nigeria has started negotiations with foreign partners to build a state-of-the-art hospital in the Niger Delta region to serve about 150 million people.

With this new hospital, NDDC is planning to bring quality healthcare closer to the people of Nigeria.

The commission has also been assured by Lynn Brown, president and CEO of Omma Healthcare, that Omma and its partners will secure equity participation and equipment financing for the project from organisations such as the International Finance Corporation (IFC).

NDDC is planning to put proper infrastructure in place to encourage medical professionals from the Niger Delta currently working at hospitals around the world to return home.
