Medical Simulation Corporation (MSC) has entered an agreement to provide New York-based hospital group North Shore-LIJ Health System with training equipment and services.
North Shore-LIJ will purchase MSC’s endovascular simulation system as part of the deal, allowing it to provide cognitive and technical education for all healthcare professionals, including hospital-based nurses and emergency room teams.
The group will also license MSC’s curriculum and training services over the next three years.
Kathleen Gallo, North Shore-LIJ’s chief learning officer, said that MSC’s endovascular simulation system would help to train specialised clinical teams without any risk to patients.
“The simulator technology is very realistic, and physicians and nurses get the benefit of real-time physiological responses from a lifelike patient,” Gallo said.
North Shore-LIJ may also partner with MSC for onsite clinical education services.
