Turner Awarded Contract to Upgrade US Children’s Hospital

Turner Construction Company has been awarded a $72m contract to modernise St Mary's Hospital for Children in New York, US. The project will include a five-storey, 90,000ft² expansion to enhance patient care areas, and provide indoor and outdoor rehabilitation and recreation spaces

Turner Construction Company has been awarded a $72m contract to modernise St Mary’s Hospital for Children in New York, US.

The project will include a five-storey, 90,000ft² expansion to enhance patient care areas, and provide indoor and outdoor rehabilitation and recreation spaces. The existing hospital will also be modernised.

Construction work will be phased to accommodate full occupancy of the 97-bed children’s hospital.

Charles Murphy, senior vice president and general manager of Turner’s New York operations, said his company was proud to manage the construction, which is scheduled for completion in May 2013.
