The medical devices market in Brazil, Russia, India and China is worth about $10.8bn, according to a marketresearch.com report.

The report, ‘The Market for Medical Devices in Brazil, Russia, India & China’, said that BRIC countries, which have a total population of 2.7 billion people with unmet medical needs, present a significant market for medical devices.

The economic downturn and regional differences in expenditure levels in these countries have affected the medical devices market, however, a burgeoning middle class will provide many short-term opportunities.

The steady growth of BRIC markets will also decrease commercial differences with the well-established markets of Japan, Europe and North America.
