Palmetto Health Richland Hospital in South Carolina, US, has become the first hospital in the state to install a remote monitoring and wireless clinician notification system.

The SafetyNet system enables doctors at the hospital to make physiological observations non-invasively from a central location, and can be used to monitor up to 80 patients simultaneously.

The Masimo-developed system also diagnoses physiological problems, encouraging early clinical response and avoiding unnecessary intensive care unit transfers.

The safety system helps Palmetto Children’s Hospital and Heart Hospital reduce healthcare costs and meet clinical practice guidelines for patient safety.
