Zynex has announced that it is developing a device to monitor central blood volume.

The device, currently in engineering and prototyping phase, is intended for use in operating and recovery rooms, and could also be used to detect blood loss and internal bleeding.

The company has a applied for provisional patent for the device.

Zynex CEO Thomas Sandgaard said the technology could be used for other applications in cardiac monitoring, and that the company will continue to explore those options, either as standalone devices or combined with blood volume monitoring.
