The Brazilian Ministry of Health has awarded Zoll Corporation a contract to supply 5,000 Zoll AED Plus units for its early defibrillation programme.
Brazil will standardise Zoll AED Plus in Brazil’s public EMS Service by installing the system in ambulances, helicopters, motorcycles and rescue boats.
Zoll AED Plus is an automated external defibrillator. It requires minimal training to operate and features audible and visual feedback that allows rescuers to provide high quality manual CPR.
Zoll President Jonathan A Rennert said the expansive placement of the AED Plus across Brazil is an important initiative in improving survival rates from sudden cardiac arrest.
“Delivering early defibrillation in combination with high-quality CPR is critical to improving resuscitation outcomes,” Rennert added.
