Children’s of Alabama in the US has completed its implementation of Surgical Information Systems’ (SIS) anesthesia information management system (AIMS) for patient information accessibility throughout the enterprise.
SIS Anaesthesia works in combination with the hospital’s Allscripts Sunrise Clinical Manager health information system and SIS perioperative IT solution to create a comprehensive patient record.
Children’s of Alabama chief information officer Jack Storey said, "With the full implementation available to the entire preoperative care team, we are now well-positioned to realise improved operational efficiencies and support care quality across our surgery department – and share that essential patient information across the enterprise."
The facility has also been equipped with the most recent version of the SIS Solution and tablet PCs for anaesthesia preoperative documentation.
AIMS is designed to improve the accuracy and completeness of the anaesthesia record during all phases of care, including intraoperative anaesthesia documentation with automated data capture from supported critical care devices.
SIS’s role-based analytics tool implemented at the facility is designed to support optimised performance.
