US-based Children’s Hospital Association (CHA) has selected Health Catalyst’s Late-Binding Enterprise Data Warehouse (EDW) in a bid to improve comparative analytics of its 220 member hospitals.
CHA will use the EDW to combine clinical and operational data from its member paediatric hospitals, helping them to assess evidence-based practices and benchmark their performance against peers.
Children’s Hospital Association president Mark Wietecha said: "This strategic relationship with Health Catalyst will enable the Association to deliver the next-generation of our data and analytics programmes to meet our members."
Health Catalyst’s EDW will allow children’s hospitals to submit data by using automation for analysis and centralise data on a single platform for efficient analysis.
The new capabilities will be initially implemented in the Milwaukee-based Children’s Hospital of Wisconsin and Texas Children’s Hospital in Houston.
CHA will gather data directly from the two facilities source systems such as health records and stores information in the data warehouse for analysis.
Health Catalyst, along with CHA, plans to prepare reports and applications on the new platform to provide additional benefits to member hospitals, allowing them to improve care and reduce costs for paediatric patients.
