Harbin Clinic, a multi-speciality physician group in Georgia, has acquired and deployed two wireless Carestream DRX-Evolution DR rooms at its orthopaedic clinic and main clinic.
Harbin Clinic conducted a full market evaluation and selected the DRX-Evolution for its image quality, reliability and ease of use.
Additionally, it was felt that a consistent user interface with existing Carestream CR and DR systems in other locations will help technologists to enhance productivity.
Harbin Clinic director of operations Fred Hastings said that the DRX-Evolution at Harbin’s orthopaedic clinic has greatly improved its workflow and enhances service for both orthopaedic surgeons and patients.
"We replaced an existing DR system because the DRX-Evolution offered us the benefits of next-generation DR technology – greater flexibility, ease of use, automated hardware features and advanced software functionality," Hastings added.
Achieving a streamlined process is of paramount importance since patients first meet with their orthopaedic surgeon, have an imaging study, and then go back for a consultation.
Hastings said that within five minutes the clinic can position the patient, capture the exam, and send the images to the surgeon.
"The surgeon is reading the X-ray study by the time the patient is back in the office, so both our surgeons and patients are happy."
"The DRX-Evolution system combined with Carestream’s specialised software also expedites long-length imaging, which is an important advantage for this location," Hastings added.
The advanced functionality of the DRX-Revolution system allows technologists to quickly and easily produce exceptionally high-quality images for all types of imaging studies.
Each DRX-Evolution system is configured with a motorised overhead tube, motorised wall stand and an automated table for convenient, efficient patient positioning.
The system can automatically capture and stitch long-length images in the upright and supine position.
The system also provides an opportunity to move DRX detectors to any DRX system.
"As we continue to upgrade other X-ray rooms, being able to move a detector among multiple DRX systems can provide significant workflow advantages while reducing costs," Hastings added.
Harbin Clinic is located in Rome, Georgia, and has 22 satellite offices located throughout Rome, Calhoun, Cartersville, Cedartown, Adairsville and Summerville.
The Harbin Clinic offers full lab and radiology services, including a 64-slice CT scanner, high-field MRI, extremity MRI and bone densitometry.
