Huntsville Memorial Hospital (Huntsville), a general medical and surgical hospital in Huntsville, Texas, has selected Strata Decision’s StrataJazz for cost accounting, operating budgeting, long-range financial planning, and capital planning.

Huntsville will replace its existing set of disparate financial applications with StrataJazz, which will provide the hospital with a unified database platform for all of its financial planning and decision support needs, and will integrate with its existing Meditech EHR and ERP.

StrataJazz is expected to improve user experience and provide much easier access to data to help make informed decisions.

Huntsville will complete the implementation of StrataJazz operating budgeting and management reporting in early 2014, while cost accounting, long-range financial planning, and capital planning is anticipated to begin in early 2014.

Huntsville CFO Guy Gros said the hospital’s goal was to have a single financial platform to increase the efficiency and effectiveness of its budgeting and costing.

"Now more than ever, it is critical that we have access to financial data to make the right decisions for our organisation and the community that we serve," Gros added.

"We chose Strata Decision because of their unique and proven ability to deliver a single and simple platform for our staff and end users."

StrataJazz is reportedly the first complete financial platform to pass the rigorous Healthcare Financial Management Association Peer Review process.

StrataJazz provides a unified platform for cost accounting, budgeting, forecasting, planning, and accountability reporting while integrating with virtually any data source.

Strata Decision CEO Dan Michelson said that Huntsville is positioning itself for success to better access and leverage information by consolidation applications.

"With new payment structures that reward quality and outcomes, they are now in a better position to understand the true cost of care across the continuum," Michelson added.

"The trend we are seeing is that hospitals want and need a single high performance financial platform with a single database from a single vendor."

Huntsville Memorial Hospital is a Joint Commission-accredited, not-for-profit acute care community hospital.
