Madison Memorial Hospital in the US state of Idaho has selected PatientKeeper CPOE (computerized physician order entry) and Medication Reconciliation software to drive improvements in patient care and safety.

Physicians there have been using the PatientKeeper Physician Portal, Mobile Clinical Results, and eSignature since 2011, and began using PatientKeeper NoteWriter for electronic progress notes earlier this year.

Madison Memorial uses PatientKeeper on the top of its Meditech Client/Server system and all patient data and order history information is fed from Meditech into PatientKeeper CPOE.

Madison Memorial chief of staff Dr Clay Prince said the transition from paper orders is going very smoothly for physicians.

"They feel it’s easy to learn, and easy to see and act on the patient order information," Prince added.

With the software, physicians can electronically track and transit patient medications from home to hospital during admission, and back to the home at time of discharge.
