Kerala Institute of Medical Sciences (KIMS), an Indian healthcare services group, has expanded its operations in Bahrain following its acquisition of Medex Medical Centre in Riffa.

Medex Medical Centre, which has been renamed RBH Medex, will now have access to Royal Bahrain Hospital’s speciality doctors and infrastructure, boosting its patient capacity to 150 patients a day, compared with 17 patients a day previously.

The facility is well equipped with state-of-the-art diagnostic equipment, multi-speciality clinics and an extension of RBH’s outpatient department services, and will now operate as a 24/7 medical centre.

The facility also includes a large panel of doctors including general practitioners, family doctors and other major disciplines, along with a 24hr pharmacy and ambulance service.

"Our vision is to extend KIMS’ medical expertise through the length and breadth of the country."

KIMS Group chairman Dr Mohammad Sahadulla said the organisation hopes that RBH Medex will grow from strength to strength, making world-class medical services easily accessible to the people of Riffa and surrounding areas.

"Our vision is to extend KIMS’ medical expertise through the length and breadth of the country," Dr Sahadulla added.

Ministry of Health Undersecretary Dr Aisha Mubarak Bu Unuq said that with a rapidly increasing population of locals and expatriates, it is helpful to have support from private medical institutions to meet the growing medical demands.

Royal Bahrain Hospital currently offers a range of services across 23 medical disciplines.
