Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital (IOH) in the US has chosen Surgical Information Systems’ (SIS) anesthesia information management system (AIMS) to improve operational efficiencies and support quality initiatives.
IOH will implement SIS Analytics Anesthesia View, a role-based analytics tool to view data from the operating room, and the SIS AIMS solution, which will allow the hospital’s anesthesia providers to more quickly complete clinical documentation, freeing up more time for direct patient care.
IOH chief of anesthesia Joseph Lafnitzegger said an electronic anaesthesia record and perioperative data to support reporting and care improvement efforts is vital in the current hospital operating environment.
The SIS AIMS solution offers automated work flow wizards that ensure complete clinical documentation and anaesthesia analytics tools to assist regulatory reporting and support better patient outcomes.
In collaboration with Iatric Systems, SIS will provide direct integration between SIS Anaesthesia and the hospital’s Meditech OR information system, allowing data to flow directly on to the hospital’s core Meditech EHR.
SIS chief executive officer Ed Daihl said, "SIS Anesthesia, coupled with role-based business intelligence with SIS Analytics, meets the needs of hospitals like Indiana Orthopaedic Hospital that have a surgery solution and need robust AIMS functionality to complete their perioperative automation."
