New York Methodist Hospital, a general medical and surgical hospital located in Brooklyn, New York, has selected a suite of Kronos workforce management solutions to be deployed in the Kronos Cloud for ease of use and faster return on investment (ROI).
New York Methodist Hospital has selected Kronos time and attendance, employee scheduling, and absence management applications to replace an older workforce management solution for increased ease of use so employees and managers can spend significantly less time on processes.
By migrating to the Kronos Cloud, New York Methodist will rely on Kronos to perform all configuration, maintenance, upgrades, and support of the workforce management solution, enabling the IT department of the hospital to focus resources on other priorities.
The absence management solution from Kronos will enable the hospital to better control planned, unexpected and prolonged absences, which impact labour costs, productivity and customer service.
New York Methodist Hospital human resources vice president Dennis Buchanan said that with the Kronos solutions in place, staff will be able to dedicate more time to quality care initiatives, enabling the hospital to improve workforce productivity and help achieve ROI through time savings and better patient outcomes.
"We needed to replace our older system with the more innovative Kronos suite of solutions to effectively drive both operational and clinical goals," Buchanan added.
The hospital has also purchased Kronos InTouch time clocks to give employees more control over their time, enabling them to easily check accrual balances, request time off and view schedules – all in real time.
Kronos healthcare practice group director Susan Reese said that hospitals face sweeping demographic, legislative and economic changes that are transforming care delivery.
"A hospital’s successes in navigating through these changes will depend on the quality of care they deliver and how efficiently they deliver it," Reese added.
"With the implementation of Kronos, New York Methodist Hospital is now uniquely positioned to address these challenges through precise and effective workforce management."
New York Methodist Hospital, a member of the NewYork-Presbyterian Healthcare System, is a non-profit hospital and teaching organisation with ten graduate medical education programmes and four schools that provide training in allied health professions.
