Stilwell Memorial Hospital in Oklahoma, US, has chosen Medsphere Systems’ OpenVista electronic health record (EHR) system for implementation.

The medical centre will install the EHR system to improve care standards and secure the maximum federal stimulus reimbursement.

Alan Adams, Stilwell Memorial CEO, said that for community hospitals like Stilwell Memorial, the OpenVista EHR meets a need which larger technology companies do not.

"Medsphere’s track record and unique ability to quickly provide clinical transformation under an affordable business model is unmatched," Adams added.

With the OpenVista EHR system, clinicians, administrators and other users can share system enhancements, upgrades and practices.

Medsphere president and CEO Irv Lichtenwald said: "The team at Stilwell understands that cooperation and affordable information sharing improve both healthcare and healthcare IT."
