Parkway Pantai (PPL), a wholly-owned subsidiary of IHH Healthcare in Singapore, is set to open the new Mount Elizabeth Novena hospital in July 2012.

The S$2bn ($1.5bn) facility includes 13 operating theatres, with hybrid operating facilities which allow less invasive surgery, and will offer heart and vascular disease, neuroscience, orthopaedic and general surgery services.

The 333 bed hospital also facilitates 37 wards, eight VIP rooms and three suites.

IHH Healthcare managing director Dr Lim Cheok Peng said he believed the premier facility will further strengthen the group’s leadership position in Singapore and the region.

"The state-of-the-art facilities, top quality staffing and medical expertise at Mount Elizabeth Novena will be a very significant addition to our offering, not just in terms of boosting capacity and revenue but also setting new benchmarks in clinical excellence," said Dr Lim.

"The hospital anticipates making 180 beds available by the time of opening and the remainder in the second half of 2013."

"The project also reflects one of the group’s key strategies of continuing to grow and strengthen our leading presence in our home markets of Singapore, Malaysia and Turkey," he added.

The hospital anticipates making 180 beds available by the time of opening and the remainder in the second half of 2013.

Over 100 specialists who have purchased the medical suites are expected to start practising from the opening day while the remaining 70 are expected to join by the year end.
