Hallym University Medical Center (HUMC) in Seoul, South Korea, has selected the RayStation treatment planning system by RaySearch Laboratories for installation at its facility.

HUMC will initially use the RayStation at Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital for conventional 3D-CRT treatments and advanced treatments.

The medical centre will also receive an integrated package of image processing tools, including automated organ segmentation and image fusion from Raysearch.

RaySearch CEO Johan Lof said the order is the second from South Korea and the first for treatment planning for conventional radiation therapy.

"This order is yet another sign of the interest RayStation is generating on all markets where we are active," Lof said. "We are looking forward to work together with our distributor OTS to introduce RayStation as quickly as possible at Hallym University Medical Center."

RayStation integrates multi-criteria optimisation tools with support for 4D adaptive radiation therapy and has a graphical user interface.

HUMC consists of six general hospitals: Hallym University Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Hangang Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Kangnam Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Chuncheon Sacred Heart Hospital, Hallym University Dongtan Sacred Heart Hospital and Hallym University Kangdong Sacred Heart Hospital.
