CommUnityCare, a nonprofit Federally Qualified Health Center (FQHC) system, which operates 22 clinics throughout Austin / Travis County in Texas, US, has chosen NextGen Healthcare for its revenue cycle management services (RCM).

"FQHC is expected to leverage NextGen RCM Services to align care with clinical, administrative and revenue processes."

FQHC is expected to leverage NextGen RCM Services to align care with clinical, administrative and revenue processes, and improve financial results throughout its enterprise.

Carolyn Konecny, CommUnityCare chief financial officer, said aligning costs with quality of care is a top priority with an increased number of uninsured or underinsured patients.

"NextGen Healthcare’s solutions have considerably helped us enhance patient care over the years. Now, the addition of RCM services will allow us to prepare for the numerous healthcare reform initiatives coming down the pike as we ensure we are optimising revenue in every way possible," Konecny added.

The RCM services, which will combine with the organisation’s current NextGen Healthcare technology, such as NextGen Ambulatory EHR and NextGen Practice Management, will re-engineer the billing and accounts receivable management processes.

The NextGen RCM Services will enable CommUnityCare to connect and synchronise their clinical, administrative and revenue solutions by leveraging one platform across all areas of its enterprise.

Monte Sandler, NextGen RCM Services executive vice president, said the company’s clients who are leveraging NextGen RCM’s services can better control operational costs and provide more predictable revenue streams.

"Our alignment with client goals, like those of CommUnityCare, is critical to helping them execute their vision while expanding our footprint throughout the Community Health Center (CHC) market," Sandler added.
