St. Joseph’s Hospital in New York, US, has received a $50,000 grant from the Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes to support the purchase of rehabilitation equipment.

The grant will support St. Joseph’s Hospital Rehabilitation Center, which is currently under renovation.

The treatment area will be expanded and designed to accommodate new modalities, remove those no longer in use and co-locate therapies to improve patient flow.

Arnot Ogden Medical Center and St. Joseph’s Hospital president Dr Fred Farley said the project enables Arnot Health, a regional health care system, to be more accessible to patients.

"This support from the Community Foundation is especially important to us as we embark on numerous initiatives that transform healthcare for the coming decades," Farley added.

The Community Foundation of Elmira-Corning and the Finger Lakes is home to more than 130 individual charitable funds.
