Virginia Hospital Center Physician Group, the 110 employed multi-speciality physician group of Virginia Hospital Center, has opted for eClinicalWorks’ comprehensive electronic health records (EHR) solution.

The Virginia Hospital Center plans to use eClinicalWorks’ EHR solution to streamline its processes in addition to improving both provider-to-provider and provider-to-patient communication.

The solution is also expected to help improve continuity of care across multiple settings, allowing critical information to be accessible at the point-of-care.

Virginia Hospital Center physician services vice president Christopher D. O’Brien noted that Virginia Hospital Center provides a vast array of services for its patients.

"We needed a technology solution that integrates our medical, surgical and primary care practices with our lab and radiology systems and supports our physicians at the point-of-care," he said.

"Reporting capabilities within the EHR will help our organisation both clinically and fiscally. The comprehensive functionality within eClinicalWorks closely fits our physicians’ needs and will help us improve communication at the point-of-care," O’Brien added.

eClinicalWorks’ unified EHR solution with practice management is ideal for large hospital systems, large and small health systems, large and medium medical group practices, FQHCs and community health centres, and small and solo provider practices.

According to eClinicalWorks, the solution provides the features that are required to improve patient care as well as facilitate streamlining front and back office administrative functions.

According to the company, the solution is designed specifically to help enhance the patient’s experience from check-in to check-out with comprehensive front, mid, and back office management tools.

"The comprehensive functionality within eClinicalWorks closely fits our physicians’ needs and will help us improve communication at the point-of-care."

Additionally, this next-generation technology helps hospital systems save money, improve efficiency and enhance security.

eClinicalWorks CEO and co-founder Girish Navani noted that Virginia Hospital Center wanted to replace its silo EHRs with a comprehensive, cloud-based platform that includes capabilities to support the provider, patient and population.

"eClinicalWorks brings extensive clinical and revenue solutions that are easy to use in a variety of settings, getting practices up and running quickly. We look forward to working with Virginia Hospital Center to enhance its delivery of care," Navani added.

Virginia Hospital Center is a 342-bed not-for-profit teaching facility offering comprehensive healthcare and multiple, independently recognised Centers of Excellence in the Washington, D.C. metropolitan area.

Earlier this month, Pennsylvania’s Washington Health System also selected eClinicalWorks’ EHR solution for its 87 employed physicians and 21 residents in its Family Practice residency programme.

Washington Health System will streamline processes between practice locations and emphasise preventative care by using the eClinicalWorks EHR solution.
