Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center and Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners have joined forces to set up a new Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center in Lake Ridge, Virginia, US.
The new joint venture centre will offer outpatient surgical care in orthopedics, spine and pain management.
Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center president Richard Layfield said the new collaboration will be able to better serve the needs of the patients and community in Prince William County.
"With the team we have in place, we are confident our centre will deliver superior outcomes, a great patient experience and solid business performance," Layfield added.
Located on the second floor of Sentara Lake Ridge, Sentara Healthcare’s outpatient medical campus, the 9,500 square feet facility will consist of one operating room and one procedure room.
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center president Megan Perry said the organisation is dedicated to adding value to the communities which the centre serves.
"We’re pleased to partner with our orthopedic surgeons and Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners to provide much needed specialised, outpatient surgical care at our Sentara Lake Ridge location," Perry added.
Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center is scheduled to open in late 2012.
Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners CEO Jeff Leland said patients are actively seeking out facilities that focus on their particular needs and offer a great experience.
"Lake Ridge Ambulatory Surgery Center will be the only musculoskeletal facility equipped to deliver this type of specialised care in Prince William County," Leland added.
Sentara Northern Virginia Medical Center is a 183-bed nonprofit community hospital while Blue Chip Surgical Center Partners’ projects include new surgery centre development, "turnarounds" of underperforming centres and joint ventures with hospitals and health systems.
