

Apollo Hospitals Enterprise has opened a new Apollo Speciality Hospitals in the IT corridor of Chennai, India, which is claimed to be the first digital hospital in the region.
Located in the Perungudi region, the 150-bed specialty hospital is the tenth hospital for the group in Chennai.
The new digital hospital will provide services, including various medical disciplines such as neurosciences, cardiac sciences, orthopaedics and trauma.
Apollo Hospitals chairman Dr Prathap Reddy said: "When we had established Apollo Hospitals in 1983, our mission was to bring healthcare of international standards within the reach of every individual.
"Over the years, we touched the lives of over 40 million patients who came from 120 countries and IT was undoubtedly was a pivotal enabler in helping us achieve our goal."
The hospital will also include specialties such as allergy and anaesthesiology, dentistry, dermatology, endocrinology or diabetology, ENT, gastroenterology with medical and surgical, and general medicine and surgery.

By GlobalDataOther facilities in the new digital facility are ophthalmology, paediatrics, respiratory medicine, rheumatology, vascular surgery and supportive services in radiology and imaging, laboratory biochemistry, haematology, microbiology, blood bank, physiotherapy and rehabilitation, preventive health, pharmacy and ambulance services.
In addition, Apollo Speciality Hospitals will provide 24-hour emergency care services.
Apollo operates 51 hospitals, 2,000 pharmacies, 92 primary care and diagnostic clinics, and 125 telemedicine units across ten countries.
