The question of when women should begin to be screened for breast cancer has divided the medical imaging profession. Recent guidelines from the USPSTF, stating that the decision to begin mammography before the age of 50 should be a personal one, have done little to calm already troubled waters. Harvard radiology professor Dr Daniel Kopans and USPSTF chair Dr Ned Calonge make their cases for and against the recommendation.
