The healthcare industry’s overall hiring activity increased by 2.35% when compared with June 2021.

Noticeably, IT jobs accounted for a 14.45% share of the global healthcare industry’s hiring activity in July 2021, up 1.83% over the last three-month average share.
According to GlobalData, IT job opportunities available at the end of July 2021 were 3.12% higher compared with the previous month.
The increase was a result of 5.42% lower job postings as compared to job closures during the month.

Software and Web Developers, Programmers, and Testers with a share of 79.91% emerged as the top IT occupation in the healthcare hiring activity in July 2021, a 13.04% an increase over the previous month. Database and Network Administrators and Architects came in second with a share of 8.02% in July 2021, up 3.48% over the previous month.
The other prominent IT roles include Miscellaneous Computer Occupations with a 5.84% share in July 2021, an increase of 3.82% over the previous month, and Computer and Information Analysts with a 3.46% share in July 2021 and drop of 18.91% over June 2021.
Top five healthcare companies by recruitment activity in July 2021
The top five companies, in terms of number of jobs as tracked by GlobalData, accounted for a combined average an increase of 15.73% share in the overall IT recruitment activity of global healthcare industry during July 2021 over June 2021.
Accenture posted 13,081 IT jobs in July 2021 and registered a drop of 8.21% over the previous month, followed by Cognizant Technology Solutions with 11,182 jobs and a 212.87% rise. International Business Machines with 3,228 IT jobs and DXC Technology with 1,834 jobs, recorded a 14.74% decline and a 34.87% drop, respectively, while Oracle recorded a 31.47% drop with 1,533 job postings during July 2021.
Regional composition of IT hiring in healthcare industry
Asia-Pacific emerged as the leading region in the global healthcare IT hiring activity in July 2021 with a 64.56% share, which marked a 30.47% growth over the previous month.
North America stood next with 21.5%, registering a 9.6% month-on-month decline. Europe was the third leading region with a 12.7% share and a 22.69% decline over June 2021.
In the fourth place was South & Central America with a share of 0.72% and a month-on-month drop of 30.65%. Middle East & Africa stood at the bottom of the table with a share of 0.53%, registering a 9.9% an increase over the previous month.
