This takes the company’s total capital raised to $18m, which includes $6m in a seed funding round also led by Vertex Ventures Israel and 10D.

The platform addresses the issue of inconsistent care, which is said to contribute to an estimated $345bn in annual waste in the US healthcare system.

Fragmented knowledge management systems and varying data formats often result in critical information being overlooked during essential moments.

Moreover, the slow adoption rate of new medical practices—averaging 17 years for physicians—highlights the need for timely access to updated care standards, according to the company.

C8 Health said it aims to bridge this gap by offering clinicians immediate, “contextual” access to verified, site-specific knowledge.

The platform customises information based on a clinician’s schedule, role, and department, enabling hospitals to monitor adherence to care standards through executive dashboards.

It facilitates quality interventions and equips healthcare teams with the necessary tools to meet care delivery objectives consistently.

Fully integrated with various hospital tools and accessible via mobile devices, desktops, or electronic medical records (EMR), C8 is said to ensure that all clinicians, from nurses to rotating physicians, receive timely guidance.

The platform features an AI assistant that allows clinicians to ask natural-language questions and receive precise, contextual responses from their institution’s vetted knowledge base.

Additionally, users can access best practices from a growing global network of hospitals and clinical societies, providing insights into local protocols and peer-reviewed methods.

C8 Health CEO and co-founder Galia Rosen Schwarz said: “This round will help us grow our team to support the needs and demand in the market. We already see how this approach is becoming the new standard, driving adherence to best practices across healthcare systems.

“Dartmouth Health is working with us to strengthen the connection between their main campus and member locations. Metro Health has seen substantial improvements in resource access and information retrieval, as well as high clinician satisfaction.”

C8 Health was conceived by Dr Ido Zamberg, initially as a departmental tool for the neurology department. Its success led to rapid adoption across the entire hospital and expansion to other hospitals in Switzerland.

In 2022, Dr Zamberg partnered with business development expert Galia Rosen Schwarz and software engineer Tzach Klo to establish C8 Health in the US.

The platform began with a focus on anaesthesia and has since expanded to include additional departments and system-wide implementations, currently being utilised by over 100 hospitals.
