The launch of the pharmacy is expected to streamline the prescription process and alleviate the logistical difficulties and time constraints that patients commonly encounter.

The Curant Health site, in close proximity to the doctor’s office, is expected to improve patient outcomes by providing immediate access to medications.

KU Wichita Medical Practice Association executive director Aaron Ryan said: “We’re excited to expand the services we offer to our patients by partnering with the Curant Health team to add a pharmacy on-site.

“This will serve as an additional avenue for patients to ask questions and receive the top-notch care The University of Kansas is dedicated to providing.”

The new pharmacy is strategically situated within the KU Wichita clinics at 1001 N. Minneapolis St., addressing common patient challenges including financial burdens associated with extra travel.

This initiative is particularly advantageous for those dependent on public transport or ridesharing services for their medical appointments, as it presents a ‘one-stop shop’ care model.

Curant Health co-founder and CEO Patrick Dunham said: “Curant Health is dedicated to providing personalised support to each of our patients.

“After many years of partnership, we’re excited to broaden our footprint with KU School of Medicine-Wichita to provide fast and convenient access to a pharmacist for patients who prefer in-person service.”

Patients at the new pharmacy will receive care from Curant Health’s pharmacy care team.

The University of Kansas School of Medicine-Wichita Medical Practice Association operates via its full-time faculty members who provide services at six outpatient clinics in Wichita.
