The partnership aims to enhance rehabilitation services in the region, providing specialised care for various conditions.

The new hospital will care for patients recovering from strokes, neurological disorders, brain and spinal cord injuries, amputations, and complex orthopaedic conditions.

It will offer services such as 24-hour nursing care, as well as physical, occupational, and speech therapies designed to improve functional recovery. The care team will consist of rehabilitation nurses, therapists, and physicians.

Once the new facility is operational, BSA Health System, an affiliate of Ardent Health, plans to relocate its existing 24-bed rehabilitation unit to this site. The vacated space in the current hospital will be repurposed to expand acute care services. This move is expected to improve the overall healthcare capacity and quality in the Amarillo area.
