Medical Center Hospital of Odessa has partnered with US-based Encompass Health and Midland Memorial Hospital on an existing inpatient rehabilitation hospital.
The partnership, which became effective on 1 July, is related to the joint ownership of Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa.

As per the terms of the partnership, Medical Center Hospital has now become a joint owner of the rehabilitation hospital.
Featuring 80 beds and 24-hour nursing care, the rehabilitation centre has been serving patients recovering from neurological injuries, disorders and other illnesses in the Midland-Odessa region for the last 27 years.
Medical Center Health System chief executive officer and president Russell Tippin said: “The care of our patients does not stop when they leave the hospital, thus making this partnership with Encompass Health and Midland Memorial Hospital extremely important.
“To have several partners in the region all working toward a goal of making sure the people of the Permian Basin are prioritised and cared for is a big step for our community.”

By GlobalDataSome of the conditions and injuries that the centre cares for are strokes, brain and spinal cord injuries, orthopaedic and amputations. The hospital also complements local acute care services.
In addition, Encompass Health Rehabilitation Hospital of Midland Odessa delivers physical, occupational and speech therapies.
Encompass Health southwest region president Frank Brown said: “We’re proud of the great work we’ve accomplished with the team at Midland Memorial Hospital over the years and couldn’t be more excited to bring another leading healthcare provider into our partnership.”
Encompass Health, which operates 25 hospitals in Texas, is set to open a new, freestanding rehabilitation hospital in Waco. It is slated to open next month.
Moreover, it revealed plans to construct a 40-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Prosper, Texas.
Earlier this week, it announced plans to build a 50-bed inpatient rehabilitation hospital in Palm Beach Gardens, Florida.
