Emergency preparedness and response technology company Juvare has introduced the new software solution, BedSync, designed to automate hospital facility bed capacity reporting.

The solution streamlines the process of submitting bed capacity data to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention’s (CDC) National Healthcare Safety Network (NHSN), in line with the NHSN Connectivity Initiative: Hospital Bed Capacity Project.

Using the capabilities of Juvare’s EMResource platform, BedSync offers real-time, API-driven reporting.

This software is set to eliminate the need for manual data entry, thereby enhancing data accuracy and reducing the regulatory burden on clinical and administrative teams.

Juvare’s chief revenue officer Sam Klietz said: “This launch represents a major step forward in supporting state and federal agencies with the timely, accurate data they need to make life-saving decisions.

“With BedSync, facilities can easily participate in the NHSN Bed Connectivity Initiative, without impacting the valuable time needed for patient care.”

The EMResource platform is already operational across 24 states and US territories.

This introduction of the BedSync solution could result in automated reporting over 3,000 healthcare facilities, encompassing acute care, long-term care, behavioural health, and rehabilitation centres.

Its advantages include secure and confidential reporting as often as every 15 minutes, manual data entry elimination, and significant staffing efficiency savings, estimated at more than $50,000 a year per facility.

In addition, BedSync offers a single API submission that meets numerous reporting needs and provides network-wide visibility of information with analytics-ready outputs.

In a move to facilitate implementation nationwide, Juvare collaborated with a CDC prime contractor to technically introduce the NHSN Hospital Bed Capacity Project.

The CDC aims to develop live visibility into the nationwide capacity of healthcare services, enabling an effective reaction in times of crisis while keeping stakeholders, federal agencies, and individual care facilities informed.
